What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you may have many questions before scheduling your first appointment. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable and empowered from the very beginning. Before your first session, you will receive intake documents, which must be completed to confirm your appointment. During our initial meeting, we will review these documents together, discuss confidentiality, informed consent, and therapy expectations, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Our first session is focused on getting to know you—your history, background, current challenges, and what brought you to therapy. I will ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of your experiences so we can collaboratively establish treatment goals that align with your needs. Open and honest communication is essential, and your input will help shape the direction of our work together. Additionally, you will leave our first session with practical skills to help regulate your mind and body, giving you tools to begin managing stress and emotions right away. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am here to provide the support, guidance, and evidence-based techniques you need to move toward healing and positive change. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule a FREE 15-minute consultation to see how we can work together. ¡Se habla Español! |
